What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 evidenced based interventions and skill-building techniques to young children in a home, school, or community setting.
  • Managing and addressing challenging behaviors by following written behavior intervention plans.
  • Documenting session notes using company assigned iPads summarizing session activities and progress.
  • Taking data on targeted skills and behaviors to track progress.
  • Creating visuals and materials needed for activities in lesson plans.
  • Assisting with parent education as needed.
  • Receiving ongoing support and supervision from a team of experienced BCBA-level staff.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Prior experience working with children
  • A commitment to learn and become certified as a Registered Behavior Technician
  • Access to reliable transportation with active auto insurance and clean driving record
  • Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week

Elevated Behavioral Therapy Services is currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of school-based behavioral technicians for the 2024-2025 school year. As a school behavior technician, your responsibilities will include supporting students with behavior plans, implementing behavior interventions, de-escalating tantrums, and providing basic instructional support.

Our SBTs receive continuous training and supervision from licensed BCBAs. Our goal is to help students achieve academic, social, and emotional success, gradually reducing behavior support as they progress.

We welcome hard-working and compassionate individuals from diverse backgrounds to assist students across all grade levels from K-12.

Where and When Do Sessions Take Place?

  • School Behavior Technicians are placed either 1:1 or embedded classroom support cases in Glendale Unified schools. Our school cases start as early as 7:30am and end as late as 4:00pm, however times vary depending on specific case/school. This position would require a minimum availability of 8:00am – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday.
  • School Behavior Technicians have the option to provide in-home ABA services when district students are not in attendance.

School Behavior Technician Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Educators and School Leaders: Work closely with teachers, school administrators, and supervisors to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  • Address Challenging Behaviors: Effectively manage and respond to aggressive and non-compliant behaviors, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Work Across All Grade Levels: Be adaptable and comfortable working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Be Timely and Prepared: Arrive punctually and be ready to start sessions promptly with the beginning of the school day.
  • Behavior Management: Implement and adhere to Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP) to support student success.
  • Data Collection and Documentation: Accurately collect and record data on student behavior and progress, maintaining thorough and precise clinical session notes for ongoing assessment and reporting.
  • Apply ABA Techniques: Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to support student development and behavior modification.
  • Assist with Personal Care When Needed: Provide toilet assistance only when necessary and as documented in the student’s care plan.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • At least 1 year experience working with individuals with autism or behavioral challenges, preferrably in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to walk, run, stand for long periods, kneel, crawl, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attendance and diligent work ethic
  • Access to reliable transportation, current driver’s license & active auto insurance.
  • Current TB clearance
  • First Aid/CPR Certification (We provide in-house training)
  • Active CPI Certification (We provide in-house training)
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to collect data using company provided iPad

Desired Qualifications:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification (Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Psychology or related field
  • Experience working in a school setting
  • Prior experience working with individuals with Autism
